Please note:
On May 25th, 2000, Plum Creek Super-Refined MDF2 ® received independent "Green Cross" certification from Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) for use of 100% recovered and recycled wood fiber

Specifically, our "recovered content" complies with the U.S. EPA's Comprehensive Procurement Guideline definitions, which refer to "a wood waste byproduct of a manufacturing process that is being diverted from the waste stream, and which has properties significantly different than those of the original material, and therefore, in its current form, cannot be recycled back through the same general process."

Furthermore, SCS has determined that at least 30% of the fiber content also qualifies for a second, more specific claim of "postindustrial recycled waste." This material consists of dry shavings produced as a byproduct of secondary processing after the sawmill. The "post industrial recycled" portion of the content also meets the Forest Stewardship Council definition of "neutral" material.
