FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. As a multi-site FSC Certified Chain of Custody Distributor, Lumber Products is proud to be a part of the supply chain that brings these products to the market place.
Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.
Lumber Products has maintained an FSC certification since 1999. Nine of our distribution centers and one manufacturing facility are currently FSC certified, and we add additional certified locations on a regular basis. The third-party certification provider for Lumber Products is the Rainforest Alliance's SmartWood program. SmartWood offers a diverse set of certification and verification services.
